Pediatric Liver Tumors

Decades of experience treating patients with liver tumors

Hepatoblastoma and hepatocellular carcinoma are two very rare cancerous liver tumors. Conquering them takes a village. At Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Children’s Health, our team of pediatric surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and pathologists have decades of experience treating patients with liver tumors.

Our doctors provide patients and their families with high-quality, compassionate care and access to cutting-edge research. Our center is often one of a select few to offer state-of-the-art clinical trials. We participate in a multidisciplinary liver tumor board, bringing together experts from across the country and beyond to discuss the best approach to care. And our experts also offer advice to other doctors treating pediatric liver tumors.

We are also the only children’s hospital in Northern California to offer proton therapy, which is a treatment option for some children with liver tumors. Proton therapy keeps more of the cancer-killing radiation energy in the tumor itself, causing less damage to surrounding tissues than traditional X-ray radiation therapy.
