Expert, comprehensive care for patients with anomalous coronary arteries

Congenital Coronary Artery Anomalies Program

The Congenital Coronary Artery Anomalies Program at Betty Irene Moore Children’s Heart Center provides comprehensive care for children and young adults with congenital coronary artery anomalies. Our large, highly specialized pediatric coronary artery anomalies program’s care team has a national reputation for offering expert, skilled care and achieving exceptional outcomes. Our purpose is to empower individuals born with coronary artery anomalies to live an active, full life.

What is a congenital coronary artery anomaly?

Children are typically born with two arteries that supply oxygenated blood to the heart, called the right and left coronary arteries. An anomaly, or defect, can occur before birth in one or both coronary arteries. Many of these anomalies do not cause symptoms or affect your child’s health and lifestyle. However, when they do, we may recommend a surgical treatment.
