My Approach

Although medicine is a serious endeavor, I chose pediatrics because it is a fun and cheerful specialty, full of bright-eyed kids with a long future ahead of them. Being able to help them with their direction on that path is very rewarding.

I try to make care lighthearted when possible. I have a witty sense of humor, which helps when bonding with patients, especially teenagers.

I make sure to get parents involved in the process and answer their questions as best as I can. I approach the care of my patients as a privilege; being able to contribute to children鈥檚 lives and well-being is the best job I could ask for.

At the end of the day, I leave work feeling happy. It鈥檚 the only job I know of where sometime during the day I get to laugh and make a positive impact on someone鈥檚 life. It feels so rewarding.
