My Approach

Our skin tells us a lot about what is going on inside our bodies. By looking at a person鈥檚 skin I鈥檓 able to determine what is happening on the outside of the body and get clues about what is going on inside as well.

The most enjoyable part of my job is being a detective. A patient comes in with symptoms, and I help figure out what is causing their problem and then create a care plan to help treat it. With children you can make a really big impact on their lives. Whether it鈥檚 sunscreen or skin care, I like to help build healthy habits in children that they can carry with them through their entire lives.

The great thing about dermatology is that everything we are dealing with we can see with our eyes. Not only can I see it, but the patient can see it too. Most medical conditions take place only inside the body where the patient can鈥檛 see the progress. When things are working in dermatology, I know it and they know it. You get to really see the results with your own eyes, and that鈥檚 very rewarding.
