PALO ALTO, Calif.āRegistration is now open for the annual on the beautiful Stanford University campus on Sunday, June 23. Summer Scamper is the largest community fundraiser of the year forĀ Lucile Packard Childrenās Hospital Stanford.
Every dollar raised provides extraordinary care and life-saving treatments for the hospitalās patients and families, including 2-year-old , who spent more than 300 days in our hospital being treated for dilated cardiomyopathy, a life-threatening heart condition. She is just one of the eight inspiring who will be celebrated at this yearās event.Ā
Summer Scamper will take place from 7:30 a.m. to noon at the Track House Lot, on the corner of Galvez Street and Campus Drive. Participants can register for the 5k run, walk, and wheelchair division; kidsā fun run; or Family Festival. Every 5k and kidsā fun run entrant receives a race shirt, and all kidsā fun run participants will earn a special finisher medal as well.Ā Ā
The Family Festival will feature music, activities for children of all ages, local booths, wellness exhibits, and more. Special guests from the Stanford University football and menās and womenās basketball teams will be in attendance to meet and entertain sports fans.
āI look forward to seeing our community join us in support of childrenās health,ā says Cynthia Brandt, PhD, president and CEO of theĀ , the sole fundraising entity for Packard Childrenās and the child and maternal health programs. āFunds raised through Summer Scamper ensure all children in our community receive the expert care they need.
